A series of public art projects done together Waheeda, the owner of a corner cafe, and Devan, a car mechanic. As shop owners in a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood they faced challenges of rising rent and exclusion from the new community that was being formed. Over four events (mini screenings, shared meals, conversations, and chalk lines), we inserted ourselves into the trending new night market of the neighbourhood, a market that had excluded them because they were not considered ‘upmarket’ enough. The work was turned into a short five part documentary series.
